Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language summary of how Halvox handles data, prepared by CreatixBox LLC. It is not legal advice, and we recommend a short review by counsel before you rely on it.

The short version

Halvox runs on your Mac. Your audio and your transcripts stay on your device. We never receive, upload, or store them. The only information we handle is the minimum needed to sell you a license and to answer you if you write to us. There are no accounts, no advertising, no trackers, and nothing is sold to anyone.

Who we are

Halvox is made by CreatixBox LLC ("CreatixBox"). If you have any question about privacy, or want a copy or deletion of anything we hold, write to contact@halvox.ai.

What stays on your Mac and never reaches us

Everything the app does with your voice happens locally, on your machine, using an on-device speech engine (whisper.cpp). None of the following is ever transmitted to CreatixBox:

• Your audio, and any audio or video files you transcribe.
• Your transcripts and your history of past transcripts.
• Your settings and preferences.
• Your Anthropic API key and your license key, which are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device.

You control how long transcripts are kept (forever, thirty days, or seven), and you can delete any of them at any time from within the app.

Optional cleanup with Claude

If, and only if, you turn on the cleanup feature, Halvox sends the text of a transcript (never the audio) to Anthropic's API so it can be rewritten in the style you chose. This call is made from your Mac using your own Anthropic API key. It goes directly to Anthropic and is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy. CreatixBox does not see, receive, or store this text. If you never enable cleanup, no text ever leaves your device.

Buying a license

Purchases are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. When you buy Halvox, Polar collects and processes the information needed for the sale, such as your email address, payment details, and billing and tax information. Polar acts as the seller of record for that data. We receive only the limited order information we need to deliver your license and support you, such as your email address and your purchase and license record. Payment card numbers never reach CreatixBox. Polar's handling of your data is described in Polar's privacy policy.

Validating your license

To confirm your license is genuine and within its device limit, the app contacts Polar to activate, validate, or deactivate it. That request includes your license key and a device identifier for your Mac. It does not include any of your transcripts or audio.

The website

The halvox.ai website is a static site hosted by Vercel. We use Google Analytics, and only if you accept it in the cookie banner: decline, and it never loads and no analytics cookies are set. When you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data, with IP addresses anonymized, so we can understand how the site is used; that processing is governed by Google's privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, and our cookie policy lists every single thing we store in your browser, with what it does and how long it lasts. We run no advertising and never sell your data. Like any web host, Vercel may process standard technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to serve the pages and keep the service secure, as described in Vercel's privacy policy. The web fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page makes no request to Google Fonts or any other third party.

If you email us

If you contact us at contact@halvox.ai, we process your message and email address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. That is all.

What we do not do

• We do not create user accounts or profiles.
• We do not run advertising or ad tracking of any kind.
• We do not sell or share your personal information.
• We do not send your audio or transcripts anywhere, ever.

How long we keep things

Your transcripts live on your Mac for as long as your retention setting allows, and are yours to delete. The limited order and support information we hold (through Polar and our email) is kept only as long as needed to provide the product, support you, and meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing, under laws such as the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA and CPRA (California). Because almost everything Halvox touches stays on your own device, most of your data is already in your hands. For the order and support information we hold, contact contact@halvox.ai and we will help. For payment and billing data, Polar is the merchant of record and you can also exercise your rights with them.

Children

Halvox is a productivity tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Halvox handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it clear.
