This page explains, in plain language, everything halvox.ai keeps in your browser. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will fix the wording.
The short version
We do not use cookies to follow you around. As you read this, halvox.ai has stored exactly one thing in your browser: your answer to the cookie question, so we stop asking. Nothing else. No advertising, no profiles, no data sold to anyone, ever.
Analytics are a separate thing, and they only ever load if you press Accept. Being straight with you: they are not switched on yet, so at this moment nothing about your visit is measured at all, whichever button you pressed. When we do turn them on, the rule below does not change.
What is stored today

That entry is technically local storage rather than a cookie, which is a small
but real difference: it never travels with your requests to our server, it
just sits in your browser. It holds one word, granted or
denied. Under privacy law this kind of strictly necessary storage
is allowed without consent, because without it we could not honor the choice
you made.
What analytics would add, only if you accept
If you press Accept, and once we switch analytics on, Google Analytics 4 sets two cookies. Decline, and the script is never loaded and neither cookie is ever created.

Neither one carries your name, your email, or anything you typed. We configure Google Analytics with IP anonymization, we run no advertising features, and we use it for one purpose only: to see which pages people actually read so we know what to improve. That processing is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Change your mind, any time
Your choice is never final. Reopen the banner and pick again, and if you switch from accept to decline, clear the two cookies in your browser settings and Google will stop receiving anything from this browser.
The same control lives at the bottom left of every page, labeled Cookie settings. You can also block or delete cookies for any site in your browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Blocking everything will not break this site; you will simply be asked about cookies again on your next visit.
The rest of the picture
A few things worth knowing that are not cookies at all. Our web fonts are served from our own domain, so reading this page makes no request to Google Fonts or any other third party. Our host, Vercel, processes standard technical request data such as your IP address to actually deliver the page and keep it secure, the way every web server must. And the Halvox app itself sets no cookies at all: it runs on your Mac, your audio and transcripts never leave your device, which is the whole point of it.
